Age-Criteria:

Age as on 01 Jan 2016 -

  • Minimum 18 years
  • Maximum 27 years

Note: 1.Relaxation of 3 Years for OBC (A) & OBC (B) and 5 Years for SC & ST candidates of West Bengal only. Persons with Disabilities (PWD Category) candidates are entitled for a relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit for all the posts.
 Candidates in the category of SC, ST and OBC from States other than West Bengal will be treated as Unreserved candidates. These candidates will not enjoy any other relaxation interms of application fee, age and qualifying marks criteria in various layer of examination.

RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT ENGINEER (Electrical/Civil/IT&C) through GATE-2017 Score under WBSEDCL-Notification No:MPP/2017/01. 

Eligibilty:

WBSEDCL recruiting for post of Assistant Engineer from Electrical/Civil & Information technology & communication discipline with Gate 2017 eligibility for following post:

Assistant Engineer (Electrical)

-B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Electrical & Electronics (Combined) /Power Engineering /B.Sc (H) in Physics with 3 years‟ B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from any Institute approved by AICTE/IITs. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply.

Or

Degree in respective branch of Engineering from a recognized University/Institute duly approved by AICTE/AMIE.
Assistant Engineer(Civil)

BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Engineering from any Institute approved by AICTE/IITs. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply.

Or

Degree in respective branch of Engineering from a recognized University/Institute duly approved by AICTE/AMIE.
Assistant Engineer (IT&C) -B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) Degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunication/ Electronics & Communication/M.Sc (Computer Science)/ MCA / B.Sc (Hons) with B.Tech (3 Years‟ duration) in Computer Science and Engineering from any Institute approved by AICTE/IITs. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply.

  • Candidates in the category of SC, ST and OBC from States other than West Bengal will be treated as Unreserved candidates. These candidates will not enjoy any other relaxation interms of application fee, age and qualifying marks criteria in various layer of examination.

How to pay application Fee:

  • Application fees should be deposited in any branch of United Bank of India through CHALLAN.
  • Candidate are required to download the CHALLAN from the website of the Company and take a printout of the same in A4 size paper and deposit in any branch of United Bank of India along with application fees.
  • After depositing fees, bank will provide Transaction ID and SOL ID which are required to be written at the proper place in the Application Form by the candidates. 
  • The candidate will retain Applicant‟s copy of CHALLAN and WBSEDCL‟s copy of CHALLAN requires to be sent by the candidate along with the hard copy of credentials.  
  • Application Fees will have to be deposited from 27.02.2017 to 24.03.2017 during banking hours. Demand Draft/Money Order/Postal Order or any other mode of payment is not acceptable

Selection Process:

  1. Gate-2017 Score( 80% Weightage)
  2. Personal Interview (20% Weightage)

Final Merit List will be prepared based on GATE-2017 score and score obtained by the candidate in Personal Interview. Merit List will be prepared discipline-wise.

Note: Score from GATE-2016 or from any previous GATE examination is not valid.

 Students in the final semester of the qualifying course of study are also eligible to apply through GATE-2017.
